Researchers and physicians tend to use more and more mobile devices allowing them to work in various environments. Kitware wants to provide scientific visualization tools on the new generation of devices. In order to achieve this, we created the VES (VTK OpenGL ES Rendering Toolkit) library. VES is a lightweight platform for building interactive visualizations on mobile platforms by leveraging algorithms offered by VTK (The Visualization Toolkit) and rendering capabilities offered by current mobile hardware. This open-source toolkit is available on iOS, Android, and Linux platforms and provides all the features needed to create interactive visualization applications.
Charles Marion is an R&D Engineer at Kitware SAS in Lyon, France. He contributes to medical image, computer vision, and data publications, and is one of the lead developers of Midas, Kitware’s multimedia digital archiving system.
Julien Jomier is CEO of Kitware SAS, Kitware’s European subsidiary in Lyon, France. He is also the lead architect for CDash and he worked on ITK and VTK.
