The Hardware and Timing section of CERN’s Beams Control group decided three years ago to embrace Open Hardware. Today, the first Open Hardware designs are available from commercial companies, and the user base is expanding rapidly. The talk will cover aspects related to licensing, business models and development tools, with concrete examples hosted in the Open Hardware Repository (www.ohwr.org).
I studied Physics and Electronics Engineering. I am the head of the Hardware and Timing section in CERN’s Beams Control group, and the founder of the Open Hardware Repository.
