Grep everything - clever search in different data formats

Creating documents and data is quite simple. Retrieving and extracting these data is a more complex thing. Several less known command-line tools wait to get in use.
This talk demonstrates how to search quickly in zip/xz/bzip2 compressed data and archives without unpacking these files, mail folders, xml files, PDF and PostScript documents, Gnumeric spreadsheets, and in process lists.
Frank Hofmann studied computer science at the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany. He currently works at Buero 2.0, Berlin, an office network of open source experts (http://www.buero20.org). He provides services in the print and pre-press field (http://www.efho.de). He is a founding member of the Wizards of FOSS (http://www.wizards‑of‑foss.de/) training organization and has coordinated regional meetings of the Linux user groups in Berlin and Brandenburg since 2008.
